Ivey are a dreamy surf-pop band from the Gold Coast led by Lachlan McGuffie (17), his brother Matthew McGuffie (16), their neighbor Dante Martin (18) and Millie Perks (14).
Their latest single ‘Cascade’ is pure bliss from 0:00 to 3:58. It features cruisy acoustic guitar similar in sound to Phoenix’s It’s Never Been Like This album, layered vocals from Millie and Lachlan, and a similar flow to bands such as Last Dinosaurs or the Jungle Giants. After a catchy verse / chorus the song builds towards the summery bridge where all the instruments drive away in unison.
The band is currently in the running for the Triple J Unearthed High competition, so keep an eye out for them.
